How does video mystery shopping work? 

Video Mystery Shopping is used by businesses to analyse and make changes to the way they operate. As a video Mystery Shopper, you’ll be required to visit a range of different retail establishments and assess your experience. Using covert cameras you’ll need to discreetly capture the experience, the environment and any interactions you have. 

Alongside your video evidence, you’ll also need to answer a range of questions by using our app or desktop portal. We always recommend you fill these questions out as soon as possible after completing the task, the more insights you can provide, the better. 

Each task you carry out will have specific Shopper project guidelines and areas of focus. Generally, you’ll be looking to capture employee behaviour, service quality, adherence to company policies, cleanliness of the environment and product presentation to name a few. 

Once you’ve submitted your task, it will go through a validation process to ensure all questions have been answered and if our team is happy with your submission, your task will be processed for payment.

Communication skills — as a video Mystery Shopper, you’ll interact with members of staff and provide written feedback as part of the task. For this reason, you’ll need to have good communication skills, both verbal and written. It’s essential that the feedback you provide is clear to both our team and to the business itself.
